REQUIRED CONNECTIONS
Solid Black → Ground (negative)
From the device wire harness connect the Solid Black wire to Ground–vehicle chassis, metal part of the vehicles frame, or negative battery terminal.
Solid Red → Constant Power (positive)
From the device wire harness connect the Solid Red wire to Constant power–a vehicle wire (always powered) or positive battery terminal with a constant positive voltage. Must supply 12/24 volts DC & 250mA current supply. Use the Fuse block & fuse between vehicle voltage (battery) and the device wire harness.
Solid Green → Ignition voltage (positive)
PING does not *require* this wire to operate, but it will increase battery life if it is connected to the ignition system.
From the device wire harness connect the Solid Green wire to Ignition voltage–vehicle chassis–vehicle wire with a positive voltage while the vehicle’s ignition is on and engine is running.
If there is NO suitable–12 volt–ignition wire, then do NOT connect the green wire–let it “float”. Do NOT connect the green wire to constant power or tie it inline with the red wire. This will cause major battery wear.
Optional wiring
- Solid White → Negative / Ground (switched) When this wire receives a negative or ground signal it it will report Auxiliary Input 2 ON inside your HQ account. When ground voltage signal is removed (open circuit) the input is considered OFF.
- Solid Blue → Positive (switched) When this wire receives a positive voltage signal it will report Auxiliary Input 1 ON inside your HQ account. When positive voltage signal is removed (open circuit) the input is considered OFF.
